Each year on one of the first Sundays in June (near Jefferson Davis's birthday, 3 June 1808), a memorial service is held in Arlington National Cemetery. This ceremony is held in Jackson Circle, at the foot of the Confederate Memorial.
Miss Vicki Heilig has chaired the Confederate Memorial Committee of the District of Columbia for several years and organizes the day.
